Did Someone Say Hot Book Summer?

May’s behind us and we’re gearing up for reading’s favorite season

In our books, summer means one thing: READING! With May nearly behind us and reading’s favorite season about to begin, we’re already looking forward to diving into all the books, swimming in all the books, and drinking in all the books (and cocktails). Before we get ahead of ourselves, we thought we’d take a beat to highlight all of the amazing happenings in the club over the last few weeks.

Hot off the Presses: Reese’s Book Club Featured in Time Magazine!

Talk about perfect timing! Our virtual book club with Patricia Engel got a shout-out in Time Magazine as part of its 100 Most Influential Companies issue. The article captured the energy and vibrance of our club chats and is definitely worth a read or re-read. Speaking of re-visiting amazing conversations, and you can see a few video highlights of the inspiring conversation between Patrician Engel + Reese below:

On the book’s inspiration

On the word undocumented

On the ending (spoiler alert!)

We Made World Book Day One for the Books

To celebrate World Book Day, Flynn Berry, author of (April ‘21 Pick) dropped by to answer your questions about the sister-centered spy novel. Highlights of the discussion included Flynn’s revelation that while fiction, the book included several nods to her real-life experiences, especially around motherhood. “One example is that when my son was a newborn, I had a conversation about nursing and my stress cortisol being bad for the baby, and stuck that in word for word! And the mix of love and fear and tenderness and exhaustion that Tessa feels as a new mother came from my experience.”

If you added Flynn’s Author AMA to your events, you can find it under SEE ALL EVENTS –> PAST to revisit everything that went down in the chat.

Nothing like cozying up with a thriller during the holidays! ☕

Start reading Gone Before Goodbye at our link in bio.
In this episode of Bookmarked, Ruth Ware talks about the power of female friendships and why she never wants that idea to get twisted. While many of her thrillers explore “girls’ weekends gone wrong,” she shares how her own friendships are essential to her life and writing, a theme reflected in The Lying Game, a Reese’s Book Club 💛 pick. It’s a great reminder that even the darkest stories are often rooted in deep connection.
