One More Chapter Candle

Heartburn by Nora Ephron Nora Ephron is my go-to favorite storyteller, be it her movies or her books, especially Heartburn. Well… especially You’ve Got Mail and Hearburn, the latter of which I’ve read too many times to count. This novel focuses on the dissolution of a marriage and it’s touching and funny and smart. Heartburn by Nora Ephron

Nora Ephron is my go-to favorite storyteller, be it her movies or her books, especially Heartburn. Well… especially You’ve Got Mail and Hearburn, the latter of which I’ve read too many times to count. This novel focuses on the dissolution of a marriage and it’s touching and funny and smart. It’s also just about the best company after a particularly hard day. Or, for that matter, a particularly happy day too.

The Idea of You by Robinne Lee

Robinne Lee’s The Idea of You is a romantic escape to end all romantic escapes. It centers on the love story between a gorgeous, accomplished middle-aged woman and a sexy young rock star. Lee has not only created a page turner of the highest order– but her story packs an emotional punch that will leave you reeling (in the best way) when you turn the last page.

Well-Behaved Indian Women by Saumya Dave

I’m just such a huge fan of Saumya Dave and her wonderful debut, Well-Behaved Indian Women. This novel is about mothers, daughters, and the rewards of following your own path. Her new novel, What A Happy Family, comes out this summer and is equally big-hearted and special.

Searching For Sylvie Lee by Jean Kwok

This stunner from Jean Kwok is my favorite kind of thriller: it’s propulsive while also being poignant. Kwok delves into family, race, secrets, and identity… packing it all into an absolutely unputdownable, elegantly constructed mystery. I love this book.

The Love of a Good Woman by Alice Munro

Alice Munro is just a wonder. In all her stories featured in this fantastic collection, Munro does things with time and structure and memory and love and family that just leave me breathless. I am in awe of her stunning prose and the ways it lifts the lid on the human heart. I, quite simply, adore her.
