A book that really made me think about the important things in life and how we’re all trying to belong.
This book really made me stop and think about the important things in life— having the courage to be confident in your decisions, the importance of connecting with others while being thoughtful and open to having conversations with people who may have different opinions than you. Brené Brown writes about how divided our world is politically, socially, racially, and how we can bridge that divide with more civility and consciousness. Listening is key. Compassion is key. I learned so much about communication from this book, and I hope you will too.

Brené Brown
Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, is a research professor at the University of Houston, and the author of four books: Braving the Wilderness, Rising Strong, Daring Greatly, and The Gifts of Imperfection. Brown lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband, Steve, and their children, Ellen and Charlie.
